Damn, I feel like it’s been forever but fear not because I’m back. I must admit that I’ve been in a bit of a rut. This happens to most of us and especially so when our engagements drop or we start comparing ourselves to other bloggers. I think this was just an opportunity for me to remind myself why I enjoy what I do and find that drive again.
I’m gonna try and keep this post short because I haven’t played around with these products yet, so it’s literally a haul post to show you guys what I received in my 2 mac grab bags. These aren’t all the products as each bag contained 9 products and I added most of them to my One year Blog Anniversary giveaway about a month ago. These items are just the ones I chose to keep for myself.
The Cosmetics Company Store is a factory store that sells authentic beauty products at discounted prices. They stock brands like Estee Lauder, Clinique, MAC, Bobbi Brown, SmashBox and a few more luxury brands as well as designer fragrances. They’re normally priced at 30% less than what they retail for in stores but every now and then they have huge sales at up 75% off. These grab bags were R375 each. How insane? There are two brances, one in Woodmead Johannesbugrg and the other in Atterbury Pretoria.
If you guys have read some of my previous posts you would know that I really enjoy Mac’s traditional lipsticks. These are in the shade Diva, Rubywoo and Heroine. I already have these in my collection but thought I’d keep them as backups or keep them aside for a giveaway in the near future.
I own one Mac single eyeshadow from the Holiday Collection 2017 in the shade stylishly merry and this shade is just magical. It’s a copperish shade that has a pink and gold shift. So I didn’t hesitate to add a few more to try them out and see how they differ in terms of formula.
- Uninterrupted – A prolongwear eyeshadow. A stunning warm brown matte eyeshadow.
- Soften up – A soft-serve eyeshadow. A gorgeous shimmery bronzy brown shade that when swatched feels creamy, almost like the colourpop supershock shadows.
- Love power – Electric cool eyeshadow. A beautiful pinky rose shimmery shade for those days when I’m feeling extra girly.
- Folie Satin – Satin finish. This is a stunning reddish brown shade that will suit almost every skin tone.
Pro sculpting powder in Lightsweep
This powder is described as a warm light peach shade with subtle shimmer. It’s a micro-fine shaping powder with soft focus technology that accentuates the high planes of your face.
Eye and brow pencils
Tapered – Eyebrow pencil. The fact that they are self-sharpening eyebrow pencils is so convenient. I love how slim they are, this makes filling in the brows effortless.
Smoulder – Eye Kohl. A dark black eyeliner pencil that is soft, creamy and applies super smoothly.
Photogravure – Technakohl Liner. A dark chocolate brown eyeliner with warm undertones.
Dusky Rose Times Nine Eyeshadow palette
I decided to keep this palette because it’s just so girly. Aren’t these amber hues just stunning? There are 9 shades that are a mix of matte, satin and frost finishes. They swatched beautifully and they feel pretty smooth. I will have to get back to you guys on the blendability, pigmentation and wear.
So these are the items I kept for myself. I still need to get around to using them but will definitely have a review post up on how each of these performed.
I love reading other bloggers haul posts, so hope you enjoyed this one.
Have you bought and Mac goodies recently? If so, please do share.
